Default mariah hull support

I am currently cutting out the crappy job that someone did on the stringers in my 1993 Diablo. I had some pics posted here if you look under my previous posts. I thought he did a good job until I started poking around. It looked great under all the bilge paint he sprayed. The boat has been sitting for about a year or so and I want to try and get it together. I already cut them out and man what a crappy job. I will NEVER, NEVER let anyone use pressure treated wood for stringers again. Maybe its cause it wasn't completely dry. The wood was soaked and fiberglass wasn't even stuck to it. I have alot of grinding to do to get the hull clean. I will post pics AGAIN today or tomorrow. I was wondering, how thick is the hull on a mariah boat? My trailer is not made for the boat. The bunks still need some adjusting to fit right. I am worried about warping or twisting of the hull. The top cap is still on and the stringer replacement is from the middle of the ski locker to the transom, to include the front bulkhead forward of the gas tank. Should I jack the boat off the trailer and put it up on blocks? I know I should have thought about it before hand but I can still block it to get it secure. Any advice would help. Thanks Dennis

PS. I have a 1996 Shabah trailer, is that a close match for the 1993 diablo?

I was really hoping someone could give me some insight on what I have going on here. Anyway here are some pics. I have everything cut out and am starting the grinding. I have never done this before. I am not to sure how far to sand so I posted some pics of the sanded glass in hopes of someone being a better judge at it. I cut the outer stringers at the factory seam where they were stapled. It was exactly an 8' run from the transom to that point, which is why I am assuming it was seamed there. I am going to try and get everything back to factory. What a mess this guy left. I was able to retrieve half my money back for the crappy job. What do you guys think, I could really use an opinion here. thanks

I sure wish I was of some help - but I have no clue on this. I'm sure one of the guys can chime in and give you some advice. If looks like you have it stripped down pretty well.

    Good luck,
    Nick

    hi Dennis

You do have your hands full with this project but i believe there are 2 or 3 others here who have gone thru this. All i can suggest is that you do a site search for 'stringers' or 'flooring' and read up on what the others have gone thru. Hopefully though one of them will see your thread and offer some thoughts. As a starter here are a couple of threads to view:

    phillycincikid's 1990 - 2150xlc

    Provo's flooring replacement

    bill.deweese's similar work on a 1996 Shabah

    845paulg's comments about flooring replacement

One of our members "deaniro1" used to work in the Lamination Dept at Mariah & is very familiar with the flooring systems. Unfortunately he hasn't been on line for about 3yrs but you could always try sending him a private message to see if he responds.
