    Thanks Larry. I was actually at their website this morning reading that. I am just a little hesitant at this point with the boats overall performance and now this issue. I just don't have the know how to dive in and assess and diagnose what's going on and fix it. The season is so short and I don't want to miss it. Plus breaking down yesterday scared my wife and kids and I can't afford for them to get turned off and not want to go out on the boat. Then there will be no boat.

    I plan on learning the mechanics as I go along so I will be able to handle what she throws at me in the future. But for now, off she goes to the mechanics.........

    I am a do it yourselfer as well which is why this hurts so much. However Its a new to me boat and I want to enjoy it this summer!!

    Not good news. She needs a new drive, new bellows outside and inside the boat and a new alternator belt. $1800 for a new aftermarket drive plus $350 for all bellows and $100 for alternator belt. Looking for a good used alpha 1 gen 2 drive. Just listed her on craigslist in as is condition for $3700/BO. Super upset about this!!

    This is killing me!!!! Found a new alpha one gen 2 for $1200. This would leave me strapped and I still need to replace all the belows and the alternator belt. Anyone know any really good reputable non skinning me mechanics on Long Island, NY??

    A 100.00 for alt belt is highway robbery!!! Take the old belt to auto parts and get one for 20.00 tops!!
    You can pick up the bellows kit on ebay for 100.00. Spend the weekend on it and do it yourself. Patience is the key with the bellows and drive install.
    Wish I was there to help ya , I'd do it in a heartbeat for ya.
    Read sterndrive.com , here , iboats.com , anywhere you can , in the next 2 days and go for it.
    I got faith in ya , just take your time.... and you'll save yourself 300.00 and the rest of the season
