Hi guys,

I had my mechanic rewire the throttle trim switch. I have the 3000 series Mercruiser throttle handle. The trailer button was hard to use and didn't work well. He wired it so the enging will trim all the way up or down with the trim button.

My question is-Where on the gauge is the maximum trim while under way? Half way or all the way to the top. I can't remember and don't want to burn up the drive.

Thats a good question I just recently cleaned my trim sensor and sender units but didn't pay that close attention. I can hear my trim motor run and once I hear it making that bogged down sound, I stop. If I'm underway if I trim up halfway I'm doing a goofing looking wheelie. I'm going to test mine tonight and pay attention.

Hey thanks bud,

Let me know what you find. I know the throttle trim would only let you trim up to a certain amount while underway. I'm trying to remember how far that was.

my 2000 z182 will only let you trim up half way on the guage without using the trailer button or the one on the back hope that answers your question
