I have a MerCruiser 4.3L and the trim up stopped working and the trim down and trailer button work fine. All indications are the trim limit and position senders need to be replaced. I inspected the wires from the sending units and they are frayed.

I've reviewed the instruction per the link below and it seems like an afternoon job for someone with basic mechanical skills.

Any comments before I order and begin?

They are excellent instructions and you should be fine if you have some basic mechanical ability and a bit of patience........along with a couple of brown pops.
