Default Trim tab hydraulic leaks

Hi,

My recently purchased 1993, 2350 Z has a small leak at a trim tab cylinder on the back of the boat, and the hose between the cylinders in the engine bay (along the top edge above the engine at the back) appears to me to be simple rubber hose and not hydraulic hose. It is inflated betwen each of the cable ties holding it in place (at about 5" pitch). When the tabs are used, the tube inflates and leaks heavily in one place. Is this an easy job to replace the cylinder and hose?

Neither the trim cylinder or the hose are difficult to replace. The hose may be a bit tricky b/c of space issures. All hoses in the trim systems should be the high pressure hydraulic type.

Default trim tab hydraulic leak - 2350 Z

    Thanks.

Do you know what bore diameter the hose should be please. I think the previous owner has just used whatever was available. Could you advise a good source for the hydraulic cylinder?

You might be able to find better prices, but http://www.mercstuff.com/ is a good place to start. They have an online catalog of many outdrive parts including new trim cylinders and hoses etc.
