Default where is fresh water intake on 6.2L?

Yes, I am actually gonna ask this! I apologize upfront for all my questions, but this is a project boat. I just bought this boat 2 weeks ago and I have ran it on the water 4 times now and it ran fine(besides all the electrical issues, and some hardware issues). So today, I was gonna try and figure out which sensor is bad, either the oil pressure or reservoir sensor. This was the first time I started the boat on land, and I have had Bravo 3's before, so I took my muffs, walked down to the boat, turned on the water, cranked the engine and no water was being sucked in through the outdrive. I immediately panicked, and shut it down right away.Opened the engine hatch, looked down and happen to notice the black and green rubber hose(see picture) and I am assuming that the fresh water coolant inlet is under the front of the block and not through the lower unit of the outdrive. Is this correct? I have only seen this before on straight inboards. Never on an I/O. Of course, I am not a certified mechanic by any means... So is that the correct inlet for fresh water engine coolant?

    Hi Chris,

What you are showing in your picture is a thru hull fitting but you need to follow the hose and see if it is attached to the raw water pump which is located on the front right side of the engine. I believe the lower hose on the back of the pump is the inlet. The outlet of the pump usually goes back toward the stern, around the back of the oil pan and goes to a fuell cooler on the lower left side of the engine. Happy hunting.
