Default Potential New Owner

I'm looking at a '96 Shabah 180 with the 3.0 liter engine, and I'm doing research on here. I've loved Mariah's since the early '90s but never owned one.

I have the same boat only with the 4.3 engine. If you want a little information on what to look for when buying a used Mariah, click here.

Thank you very much. What is your opinion of the 3.0? I'm a bit worried that it will be a dog, as I live in Colorado. I want to make sure it will pull up a wake boarder.

If you prop it right it will pull a wakeboarder without too much trouble, it will be easier on fuel that the 4.3 and expect a top speed in the mid-high 30's. You will probably require a 17" 3 blade or an 18" 4 blade prop on that boat and i would also strongly suggest adding a pair of Smart Tabs. Do a site search here for "Smart Tabs" and read up on what others say about them.

Excellent, thank you. I don't mind propping it down, I don't really care what the top speed is (I have jet skis for that) I just need enough low-end to pull toys with.
