We had the same issue with our '94 182 Barchetta. I pulled all the fuses, being careful to note which value went where, used a soldering tool wire brush on the fuse holders (best to disconnect the battery first, perhaps), then treated them first with DeOxIt, then ProGold.
As for your trim up. The trim up switch will being the drive only 30% (I think it is?) up. Drive damage can result operating it with more tilt than that. You need to use the trailering switch to bring it up the rest of the way.
If you're talking about the trim up being intermittent w/in its operating range, yet the trailering switch always works, it could be your Trim Limit Switch. That's usually the culprit. See here: Replacing Your Trim Limit and Trim Position Senders for more info.
