We have a couple of weeks off from work, October 8-21' and were thinking of heading to lake Powell. Since we've never been there, what's the weather like in October? Is it too cold? How about the water level? Any info would be appreciated! Just got home from lake tahoe. Had one good day of boating, but it was pretty breezy and choppy for an 18foot boat. The weather on the second day was beautiful, but......our fuel pump (actually an oil pressure switch that energizes the fuel pump) took a dump just as we were pulling away from the dock.....better there than a couple of miles out! It's all fixed now and looking to get back on the water soon!

I'd assume it's really cool in October. I went in September and it was cool enough that we didn't really want to get in the water. I mean, we could swim if we really wanted to but even the kids didn't very much. I'm sure it'd still be fun boating though. It's quite a place to experience.

It really depends what your goals are. If it is to water ski it probably is getting too cold unless you have a wet suit. But the site seeing is beautiful any time of year. Just be prepared to deal with rain and maybe wind.

Thanks for the Lake Powellk weather advice! Where I work, we have to schedule vacations about a year in advance, so we had the October dates selected before we were able to make any vacation plans. Looks like we'll wait untill next year to go to Powell, and we'll plan on a little earlier in the summer!

    Thanks again!

We went early September last year and it was great. Weather was in the high 70's to low 80's so it was pleasant, and the water was still fairly warm. Plus all the Utah kids are back in school so crowds are down.

Well I finally got them organized and from the other fellas on the trip. It was a great time and we even saw several other Mariah boats, not sure if they are members or not. Enjoy!!

    Before leaving home!

Packing up goods in Salt Lake City.

    Docked at Bullfrog.

Our Docking system next to the boat. Good thing we had an engineer on board!

Day trip to Clear Creek Canyon. Worth the trip, way cool!!

On the way back to the houseboat!

Attempting to pull up one of the big anchors from the houseboat!

    Headed home!!

If you are headed to Bullfrog, in Moqui Canyon we saw quite a few tenters or out in the main canyon as well. Not really sure though??
