I did my tranny a few years back cause it shifted funny on me a couple of times. figured I do it before it went out. still did the same thing afterwards (~~scratching head~~~) then last year the check engine light came on. had it diagnosed to the throttle pedal assembly. seems as though there are 3 sensors connected to it. One is low throttle pedal, high throttle pedal and tranny shift. at the same time it was getting harder and harder to start. fearing the worst, I had the throttle pedal replaced and it's like a brand new truck again. starts up without any glow plug warm up, got 1-2 more MPG immediately and tranny shifts perfectly. go figure.

I don't have a real truck... but it pulls the Diablo with ease. It is a challenge to haul anything real in it's novelty bed though. I'm hoping the US gets the next generation Canyon/Colorado and it has an optional diesel.. and looks better than the newest offering in other markets around the world.

I'm also getting ready to put the hitch etc. on our 2010 Acadia for longer trips. I only have to tug my boat a few miles to get to a marina/boat ramp - we have a total of 8 within 30 minutes of my house, 2 of which are within a few miles.

Here is our old tow vehicle. We decided to retire it after 185,000+ miles. All original on the 3.4L - AWD still worked perfect and the only thing I did was basic maintenance the whole time we owned it (bought with almost 40k in 06).

10 years old, 190,000 miles and still runs like a bat out of hell. The 7.3 Powerstroke may not have been the most powerful diesel Ford ever made, but it's simplicity sure makes it bulletproof (knock on wood.) This was halfway through my 500 mile pull last weekend.

No, it was just a demonstrater that my best make bought over for me to have a look over.
Only posted it because it's the new model for 2013 over here and didn't know if you guys in the states had ever seen it.

You have to remember we don't get big trucks over here, couldn't afford to run them if we did anyway!

I pull my boat with a Grand Cherokee (2003 WJ). But over here it's fitted with the Mercedes 2.7L common rail diesel.
Mines tweaked to about 200hp and plenty of torque. Pulls my little boat with no issues at all. It a bit of an old work horse and has it's moments but it gets the boat too and from the water so job done

I'm not sure if we will get the Global platform ranger here or not - Ford has said NO.. but who knows. It looks like the next version of my truck won't hit until 2014ish. If they offer it in a diesel I will be jumping on it due to all the mileage I drive for work.

We hardly have any small diesel options in the US - beyond cars. Jeep offered a liberty diesel and a Grand Cherokee for a few model years - but the liberty was a turd and the GC was very expensive - and low production to my understanding. They hold their value here and cost plenty used if you can find one.

I too have an LBZ Duramax. I couldn't be happier with it. With the 1 ton Crew Cab and long bed, the truck is so big that my 210 shabah looks tiny behind it. I'll need to take some photos the next time I hook up.
