Default Painting my boat trailer - or line-x?

Has anyone seen or had their boat trailed sprayed in line-x or something similar?

I plan on prepping all of my rust spots this summer with some type of rust preventive paint like por15 and possibly painting the trailer toward the end of the season... or I was talking to my Dad earlier about spray liners.

The conversation was started because we were talking about our trucks. We plan on replacing the rockers on his Duramax crew cab this summer, and will be doing a color matched spray liner type material on the rocker panels after installation. I also plan on doing color matched (or contrast) rockers etc. on my truck - then I had this idea about spraying my trailer. I might not be able to match the current paint on my prestige, but I could do it in some type of glossy spray. I thought this would help protect it, make it less slick to stand on.. and look decent. I can even add metallic flake to some of the products listed below - and have seen some samples.

These are the brands we have looked at for the trucks, as they are offered as a DIY kit.

U-POL Raptor

Al's Liner

Monstaliner

I also worked for a place that installed Rhino Linings in the past.. and we sprayed just about everything.. except a boat trailer. We did a "duck" boat once, and some other odd things.. but no trailers.

Just curious what everyone's opinion is!

I did find this thread where someone did their bass boat trailer in monstaliner (which is the product I am leaning towards).

Trailer restore

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick, I'm getting mine sprayed at the end of the season in Linex similar product, but the stuff my guy is using is tintable, so I'm getting it to match the blue of the Vinyl in the boat.

As I'm a Manager of a Used Truck lot here in Michigan, I've seen every color of linex/rhino liner tint possible. Even saw an '04 Chev 2500 C/C S/box 4x4 Diesel done from tip to toe in Canary yellow Linex. I'm talking ALL over.

    You can always use this

The U-POL Raptor is one of the kit's we have been looking at. Although the Monstaliner is made to roll on and might be easier to install on a trailer(it can be sprayed too).

I found some really nice looking trailers while doing a google search... apparently some other people thought it was a good idea as well

Keep me posted on your trailer - and I will let you know if and when I end up doing mine. My biggest issue is finding a way to get my boat off and put somewhere safe while I work on it.
