I like the Discovery's too but the rest of these guys here aren't quite so 'sophisticated' as you & i Even the Top Gear guys like them.

    Default Tow vehicle: Chevy 1500

    My tow vehicle is a 2000 Chevy 1500 LT 5.3L., extended cab, 4x4, w/ 3.73 axle.
It pulls the Z260 fairly well. I estimate the boat/trailer/equip to weigh 8000lbs +. The 4.10 would help. The truck wants to run faster than I like to tow. I towed the boat from Saratoga, NY to Ocean City Maryland w/ no trouble.
I would prefer to tow with a new '08 GMC 2500 Duramax!

I use both a 96 and 07 Toyota Tacoma to pull my 179SE Talari. Both are V6's and 4wd. The 07 with a 4.0L engine pulls it alot better than my 96 model.

    Hi Dave,

I believe currently, Ford still owns Land Rover and Jaguar. I know India's Tata Motors is trying to purchase Jag and Land Rover but according to this article, the deal may be in trouble……

It's been said that this could be a great blow to the British, one of their ex colonies now owning two of their flagship icons. We can only wait and see…

    Hi there,

Mine is not on the list, it is a 10 year old Volkswagen Passat Syncro (permanent 4x4) TDI (Diesel). But that is a more downsized car if compared to the US standards. But hey, fuel is to expensive here in Europe anyway. (But I still dream of having a big US Pickup though ;-)

    Regards,

    il Mio

I dunno about that Merc but the Rangey would be my real preference.....if only one could keep it out of the repair shop.
