Hey... I have the same situation. I have a 96 Chariot trailer that I need a Recall letter because of importing it into Canada. I've emailed Mariah a number of times with no response. Let me know what you come up with??

    Thanks Ed

Mariah has nothing to do with Chariot, Ed. Without rehashing the Mariah / Chariot connection, that all ended with the shutdown in 2001. Read what Peppe said you need at the border and make sure you have it or send Peppe a private message & ask him what he did about the recall letter.

    Hi All,

To this point all I have managed to do is get the boat and trailer across the boarder. I will try the registration process next. From what the people at RIV (Registar of Imported Vehicles) told me, a recall letter is not required.

Ed, are you telling me that you have the trailer in Canada and are having a hard time registering it or are you considering bringing one up from the US??

    Let me know

    Peppe

I brought my boat accros the boarder last August, you do not need the recall letter as Chariot is no longer in business. You need all the documents that peppe has listed, and once you have crossed the boarder and paid you GST, you must, according to RIV (Registrar of Imported Vehicles) have the trailer inspected, if it does not have a Canadian compliance sticker showing it meats the canadian department of transportation authourity safety guideliness. This can be done at Canadian Tire. No laughing. This fee can be paid at the boarder. You cannot get the vehicle registered in your province until this inspection has been completed. RIV gives you 45 days. Once you pass and have the Canadian sticher affixed to the trailer your good to go. You also have to surrender the title that came with the boat once you get your local insurance.
Definitely worth the hassel to own a Mariah!

    Ok Guys,

So I picke dup the boat last Friday. Cossed the boarder with little trouble. Registered with RIV on Monday and had the paperwork to have the trailer inspected the same day. Licensed the boat on Tuesday with no problem as well. Had the trailer inspected this morning with no issues at all.

Importing is a breeze.....I would suggest it to anybody. Now if only I could get the weather to cooperate.
