Trailer Lights On Guideposts

I am looking into moving my trailer's brake lights to the guideposts. I've read that doing do is a good idea since it increases the trailer's visibility, and also improves the lights' durability, specially if lights are sumerged in salt water, which shortens their lifespan significatively.

Has anyone done this modification? Any cons?
