I recently bought an mx19 and finally got her out in the water. It had a 19 pitch prop on it and only got up to 3900-4000 full out. The previous owner chewed up the 16 pitch stainless prop pretty good and threw this one on. It's an omc cobra 4.3l. What size prop and what rpms should I be looking for?

Well I'm getting the 14x16 stainless fixed up and the alum 19 pitch fixed both for $100! I'll use the stainless for regular skiing and tubing use and the alum as a spare. I need to drop the leg and put in a new shift cable this spring so once I have forward and reverse and its all adjusted correctly I'll know better where im at.

If you go to replace the shift cable bellow Id recommend taking the old one to a hydraulic line shop and having them make you one. My brother has an 89 OMC and they wanted 130 shipped. Local hydraulic shop made it for 25$. Food for thought...

I'm still getting the sterndrive lingo down here. Are you taking about the rubber fitting on the end of the cable? I have a feeling I may be able to get it shifting right by adjusting the remote cable (shifter). I can manually shift both forward and reverse on the motor...

No. It keeps water out in the outside of the boat. It literally looms like a garden hose. The shift cable goes into it. They get dry rotted an crack like rubber tends to do.
