Default Mariah Horns Question

Are horns on all Mariah boats the same? Was the flush mount horn only uses on certain models? Can you still buy them?

    Hi Doug

I'm not sure what brand they used (i suspect AFI) but they had a mix of flush mount and hidden horns in the different models. West Marine has a good selection and they all wire up in the same fashion.

Here's a link to their site:

    Doug,

Describe to me what the horn looks like, I should be able to identify it. A picture would be great, not sure if that is possible.

    Best Regards,

I have never seen the actual horn on mine.

I don't know where it's hidden, but it's sound level is pretty pathetic!

    On my Diablo,

It is located on the underside of the helm area (tucked way up there). Pretty much below where the starboard window starts to wrap. Mine is pathetic sounding also. I just use it for fun to bug people on board.

It works, that is what matters.

    Doug,

I just looked at West Marine's web site and the AFI compact horn w/black cover pn#10023 will work. It is not an exact replacement - I am sure they have changed the looks over the years but it will work. There will be two wires and you will need to put a male bullet connector on the horn wires because the harness will have female bullets to connect the two. I believe the horn is on the stbd. side of the steering rack and helm but I am not positive - it has been a while! See how this work and I will be watching to see if you need more assistance.

Mine is hidden up under the helm on the starboard side. It's a little tough to get at but it's doable. Sticking your head in there and having someone hit the horn button should let you find it real quick..

The two types of horns Mariah used were ITC and AFI brands. I have thinking about this since the first post. After working for three boat mfgs. it takes a little while to sort things out in my mind!!
