Default Back in the club

Well, I did it. Picked up a 99 Jubilee 214 this weekend. It's been 2 years since I sold my Z202 Shabah and it's nice to have a Mariah back in the driveway.

Needs a good cleaning, but overall she is in very good shape. Original interior is soft with no rips/stains. Outside is a little hazy, so it needs a good polish and coat of wax. Mooring covers have been replaced and the bimini boot is due for replacement. All electronics except the docking lights work.

Meter says 400 hours, but the radio only works with key in the on position. Motor is tight and doesn't run like a motor with 400+ hours on it

Here's a pic in the driveway, covered with salty road grit and needing a bath.

Welcome back blockp! Even dirty she looks great! I'd say a nice warm day with some boat wash, and the Meguiar's Fiberglass Restoration Kit and that Jubilee will look as good as new! Congrats!!

Can i ask, what made you go for a deck boat?
Having never owned one i am genuinely interested about your choice

    Short answer:
Seating of a pontoon, performance of a deep v.

    Long answer:
It's very common for us to have friends with their kids over. With our other boats we often had to plan around the paltry capacity ratings. It's rare for us to be hitting the weight limits on the rating, but the persons rating is often an issue when we have kids and other families with.

We are into water sports as well as anchoring out. I want a boat that can pull an adult up on one ski, throws a reasonably skiable wake, can be fished out of with the kids, can be driven across the lake for dinner and doesn't cost me an arm and leg in gas doing any of that.

We have our parents as well as some older friends with us reasonably often. A walk through transom for getting on/off the boat is a must. The side entry of the Jubilee while at the dock is a nice bonus.

Our lake is about 30x10 miles, and has a river system that allows for some decent travel distance. I want a boat that will handle rough water and can get me out of weather when it turns ugly. I live on the lake, so I don't need to be able to hole up in the cabin of the boat, just want to be protected while driving home.

Summers are pretty short in Wisconsin. I can't justify spending a ton of money on it and don't want the extra maintenance of owning two different boats.

So I wanted a boat with high seating capacity, power/speed for the water sports, windshield for hiding behind when the weather turns, walk-through transom for ease of entry and I didn't want to spend 20k+ on it. I don't need a boat that is the best at all of that, just one that is a decent compromise between all of those functions. Using those parameters and spending a lot of time looking at different designs and styles... a 21' Jubilee was the answer for me

    Thanks for that
We don’t really get deck boats over here in the UK but then most of our boating is coastal and not on lakes.
I do find them very interesting though, good luck with your new venture and post some pictures of it in action
