Default 1997 Mariah 180 Shabah seat covering motor

Last week I bought my first boat (1997 Mariah 180 Shabah), in my early 20's after alot of research and checking out a few Mariah i found the one i couldn't pass up. On my 3 hr ride back after my purchase sometime during the ride the seat covering the motor flew out. I searched for days and couldn't find it. I was wondering what is the best way to replace it, right now im thinking making it with treated lumber and have someone upholster the seat. Any ideas or experience? Thank yall

    Talk about tough luck...

Yes you could rebuild one with marine plywood & framing while sourcing the foam & upholstery material or you could have a look thru our Marketplace 'For Sale' section to see if anyone parting out their boat has that particular seat. Very likely the rear seat from an 18-20' boat will fit.

Ha! Harnold;I had a similar experiance with my Z252 shabah, forgot to close the windshield while traveling, when i got home the hatch of the motor cover was gone.I drove back 50 mi. and found it beside the road. The four head rest cushions were damaged and the main cushion was ripped. I made a new support of 3/4" plywood and took a picture of the logo on the outside of the boat gave it to my neighbor lady who does car uphostery, she rebuilt it, stiched the logo with gold thread and it came out good as new. I didn't buy marine ply that was a 2 wk. order,Been on there for 3 yrs. still looks good Hope this helps, Wayne 344

Thanks guys, yeah with my luck I shouldn't have been surprised. Somewhere two raccoons are sleeping on a nice bed. I was told try plywood and was a little worried but that makes me feel a lot better. Thanks again for the help I will let y'all know how it works out.

Use King Starboard if you can. It'll never rot and it keeps its shape.

Eating a few less "Big Macs" will help it keep its shape too....
