Default Trailer fitment thoughts

I bought a new to me 98 272 this spring. Unfortunately it had no trailer. I was able to find a used Prestige BVS for a sea ray Sundeck boat. This trailer has 6 bunks and brakes on both axles and I really wanted it, but of course it did not fit well. I found a local marina that was able to shim some of the bunks to fit but it supports the weight under some of the strakes. It seems to work ok and trailer well, just a bit touchy when loading or all 6 bunks do not touch the hull. Am I sitting on a time bomb? Should I have this trailer revamped to make all the bunk fit in between the strakes? In the picture you see the outermost bunks with yellow tape, those were shimmed and all fit. Also the boat sits with the bunks extending beyond the transom, not like the picture.
Thanks

Yes, I'd get that fixed, and sooner rather than later. Balancing the boat on it's strakes is not a good idea over time. Especially if you're trailering it often. Remember, your boat will move on the trailer with some big bumps.

I'm almost thinking the top (tallest) bunks could be removed, after all they seem to be the problem by keeping the boat just a little too high. Since they're welded, it'll require some metalworking. You could maybe repurpose the bunks as hull guides for the sides of the trailer? I'm sure a metal shop could fabricate up some side brackets, that way the boat will stay planted in it's spot!

it only hits the strakes on the top 2 on each side. the bottom 2 cradle perfectly. I should take an after picture. I have trailered 500 miles and it did not move a mm. I am just curious as to if there is strength in the strakes to bear part of the load, not all, but part.
