Sorry to hear that, you think when you take it to a pro, he should give it back ready to go!

Hang in there, and hopefully you'll still have some summer left.

I've got to find a better mechanic! Im stuck right now though. Chuck was in the process of moving to a new location when I took it back, he just checked it out, found out the number six cylinder is burnt out do to timing issues which voided the factory warranty. He said he going to fix it at no cost to me but didn’t say how, new engine or rebuild that one. Grrrrrrrr

If that was a new motor I'd definately make him install another new one!! Screw rebuilding!!
I feel for ya , nothin like putting your boat in the water for some fun and it doesn't run. Good luck and let everyone know what comes of it!

Are you going to end up with a 'new' motor, that is now rebuilt, and without a factory warranty ?

No need to get mad, but this does not sound like a good deal for you.

Finally got my boat back about 2 weeks ago. They said it was a burnt valve due to incorrect timing, they replaced the head. I’ve only had time to take it out once since then, it ran fine but the water was so rough and choppy (wind blowing 20-30 mph) I couldn’t run it too hard. Hopefully I’ll get to take it out Saturday and do a real test.

It spent all winter in the shop and now I’m starting over with the cleaning and oxidation. But not going to touch it till I’m sure it’s mechanically sound.
