Does anyone know where the transducer is located for the depth gauge in a 1990 1850lx? Mine reads 144 or blank.

Either attached to the hull underneath the engine or attached to the rear transom near the bilge drain. If its attached to the hull, it likely has come loose and needs to be re-set with epoxy.

I found it. Looks like a hockey puck kinda. It was loose. What is the best thing to use to re epoxy to hull?

Lots of options to use. Devcon 5 minute epoxy, Devcon plastic welder are a couple i've seen recommended. I know of 2 people who have used 3m 5200 sealant and that has worked well also. I've done a couple and used 2 part slow cure epoxy. I've built up a small ring of marine silicone sealant around the transducer mount, let it cure a bit then poured in some of the epoxy & left it a couple of minutes to let it settle. Then i've placed the tranducer into the mixture and placed a bit of weight on it to hold it firmly in place while the setup cured. The big thing is to avoid getting any air bubbles in the mixture because that will cause erratic readings also.

I epoxyied 3 times and still reads the same. I am going to buy a new one this weekend. Should I go with a transom mount or a in hull?

If you dont mind drilling holes in your hull, a transom mount is easy to install.

I am going to buy a duel mount version so that I can try both. I think this will be best so as I don't have to drill a hole
