Default Raising the driver seat?

Has anyone done this, or found a way to do it that isn't a big undertaking? I am wanting to lift my seat up a few inches so it is easier for me to see when pulling someone behind the boat. I am also a little short in the seat to see over the dash comfortably.

Assuming you have a drivers side bucket seat, simply buy a new pedestal that is 2-3 inches higher. Another option would be to buy a bolster/flip down style drivers bucket that would allow you to sit higher when needed. The problem with the first option is that you are always riding higher & may actually be up too high so that your line of vision is obscured or your head is in the windstream over the windshield.

I installed an adjustable pedestal so I could raise and lower the seat. I purchased it years ago, but it was an easy replacement. I simply found a base that used the same diameter post as the existing seat post; the base had the adjustment mechanism. I just googled adjustable boat seat pedestal and saw many examples.

I did same thing that Rob did... purchased an adjustable pedestal. Hole patern was almost the same as the existing one as well. Works great. Funny thing was.. Wife wanted one too. I went and got another, then went to put it in and one was already installed! lol I guess previous owner had a short better half?!?

What pedestal did you get? How much does it raise the seat (min-max)? I have no idea how much raise I need, it's just really uncomfortable riding with the non-adjustable seatback while on one leg. My other boat had the folding lounge chairs and wasn't as uncomfortable to take a knee while driving. How much did you pay for it? Would you be willing to sell?

Sorry to jack the OP thread, but it's information I've been looking for as well...the seat height just doesn't seem right unless going like 20mph and it's cold out...
