Sometimes the float switch gets dirty and prevents it from functioning properly. First step is to try some bilge cleaner. I usually pour a bit in there, then add some water to help it slosh around. I'll drive for probably about 30 minutes then pump it out. This will usually break up any marine growth or potential problem causers. If this doesn't work, you can try and manually repair it yourself, but it might be easier to just replace it. Replacing it shouldn't be a horrible task, and might only take about 30 minutes. The hardest part is figuring out how to reach it! Just make sure you get the right GPH rating. Mariah equipped their boats with some of the fastest pumps available in that size range.
