Default more newbie help...looking at another MARIAH Z255 Shabah

Any thoughts on this one? Some scratches but don't seem to serious...Can get this for around 18. Looking for a good all around boat for a wife and 3 little ones that we can overnight in once and a while and also be in some rough water and not get beat up.

Thanks!

Chris or anyone...Any thoughts?

Thanks!

$18k seems a little low, at least according to NADA but the boat will handle your needs. There is nothing like a test run, confirmation of regular servicing and a boat survey to ease any worries.

    Hi zrt8001050,

Wow, saw this earlier on eBay, sweet, it really stands out with the red hull! Looks like this is just what the doctor ordered, roomy, cabin for over nighters and plenty of boat with get up and go!

Just do like Mikeyt suggested, it's really important, other wise your great deal could turn into another "trailer queen project" (you know, when the boat spends more time on the trailer during the summer than water).

So get it checked out, if it's all it's cracked up to be, jump on it and get the family out on the water!!

    Cool-

Looks much better than the white one I was looking at that had the "rubber" duckie antennae, no silent choice, drive shower, etc....They said the only thing with this one is the scratches in the pics, (you can see in the one where the rub rail looks like it could be replaced, not sure how much that would cost?) and a small "barely" noticeable stain on the hatch.also needs a good wax above the rub rail as it's sunfaded..Seems like a good deal? A lot of boat for the money?

    Hi zrt8001050,

From the pictures, the scratches didn't look that bad, anyone experienced with gelcoat repair and color matching would make quick work on them. You could also try to do the job yourself.

Well, according to Mikeyt, the price of $18K was low according to Nada (the Kelly Blue Book for boats) so if everything checks out, I guess you got yourself a bargain!

The red hulls are beautiful and don't come up for sale as often as the other Mariahs. If that is what you want go for it, you may not see another for quite a while.

Looks to be in OK shape. Those thru-hulls don't look factory. Not that it really matters that much.

Actually, those are the OEM Mariah tips. They used this style on the Shabahs and the Jubilees before the 99 model year, when they moved them down to the molded spots on the transom above the outdrive.

If you can get it for 18k, it's not a bad deal. Just a word of warning, the solid colored gelcoat hulls require a lot more maintenance and elbow grease to stay looking good. Just be prepared!! I've seen quite a few red boats that look terrible after a few years if you don't take care of them.

I wish the seller's photos were a little larger, it'd give us all a better chance to see what might need attention.

ShabahZ250's right, they're original.... see attachment, right from the 98 brochure.
