Default Trailer wheel issues

Headed down to the lake this weekend and heard a bunch of clanking. Figured the jack fell so I stopped and took a look around. Passenger side wheel was 2-3" outside the wheel well. I was afraid to move it too far. Lucky for me, happened right in front of a neighbor who A. has a huge shop and B. is a mechanic! Back it in a 100' or so, jacked it up and the wheel FELL OFF. Seized a bearing and scoured the axle. New bearing will hold through the end of the summer and then a new axle this winter. Needless to say - dodged a bullet on this one.

Anyone ever had this happen? I'm sure after 17 years that something like this was bound to happen. The trailer was going to be my winter project, but now it's looks like I'm moving that up. The 202 seems pretty heavy for a single axle. What are most of you other guys running on yours? Duals for anything over 20'? If anyone has a tandem in the Ruby color let me know - I might be willing to swap you....

Yep. I have had similar issues. I now have two new axles. Torsion axle or leaf spring? I did a lot of research and found what I think to be the most affordable fix on torsions.

After a ton of phone calls and emails with the axle companies I found online I went with >>AMERICAN ROCKWELL<< for a few reasons. 1- they have a location up the road from me so I did not pay shipping. 2- they had the best price for the same product the other places had.

I have a write up of it >>HERE<<. It was the most affordable way of doing it. I opted with electric drums. Plenty of trips to the lake an a few out of state- zero issues.
