I recently purchased a 1993 talari with the 5.0 mercruiser and Volvo Penta out drive. My upper exhaust bellows were shot, so I went to replace them. So that meant I had to remove the elbows, now I can't find the correct gaskets. One side has a steel/graphite gasket and no idea what the other side has. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get one, how important that the center section is that I circled, or what material I could use to just make one. Thank you very much in advance. I need a little clarification, you have a 5.0 Mercruiser with a Volvo Penta out drive?

Most auto supply stores sell gasket making material and punch sets. You just need to tell them the application and select the correct material. You could also try a marine repair shop and see what they may have that will work.

That said, and as Moto noted, i dont often (ok, never) see a Mercruiser with a Volvo outdrive unless some backyard wannabe mechanic has been working on it.
