OK, so as mentioned in another thread, it appears I messed up on the winterizing and cracked the block on our 4.3LX.

That said, it appears it's going to be easier for me to drop in an 8 bolt intake motor versus the current 12 bolt intake. I realize that means I'm changing the intake, but is there anything else I need to worry about that has to be changed?

I'm doing the swap myself so we believe this should be under $3k with the tractor forks I'm also purchasing to make pulling the motor easier.

If the information I'm finding is correct, it also appears I'll get about a 20 horse bump in power going to a true Vortec motor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
