    Hi skaters,

Aren't these made from smoked Plexiglas? If so, look up ay plastics fabricator in your area and they should be able to cut, drill and polish it for you. The originals were made in-house and are not available anymore.

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

    Hi skaters,

If you don't have any luck, we have one here called Tap Plastics and if you send me the dimensions (LxWxD and thickness and color - smoked or solid back), I can see if they can make one up and how much it'll be. They also do edge polishing and hole drilling if you want it.

I had them make new plastic rails for our front seat mesh pockets (still have the protector paper on the new pieces):

It's actually possible to do things like this yourself, but the cutting and drilling is tricky.

For the cutting, a regular table, radial-arm, or sliding-table miter saw will work. The trick is to get the right blade (IIRC, we used to use carbon-tipped finish blades), then move neigher too fast (chipping) or too slow (burning, melting) during the cut. Oh, and cutting this stuff really dulls saw blades rapidly. Cleaning up the edges is easy.

Drilling has to be done with a spade bit with spurs, bullet pilot point or spur point bit to avoid chipping and cracking. Same thing applies as with cutting: Too fast and the plastic will chip/crack. Too slow and it'll deform.

Back in the day, place I worked at, we cut and drilled all our own plastics.

    Jim
