Default 2001 Diablo 200 I/O

Just bought a 2001 Diablo 200 with a 5.oL engine. Trying to find out more info on this model, but have run into a dead end. I have searched the internet and find little if any info on this model. Does anyone have any info, they would share?

Welcome aboard Mivy. We do have some general information in our collection of manuals / brochures etc that would apply to your boat but i didn't see anything specific. We are constantly adding new documentation though as our membership increases and there is a large knowledge base here amongst our members so if you have any specific questions please post them & we'll do or best to answer. Our documentation is available to all who become 'donating' members to the club. Click on "Donate" above and all will be explained.

    Welcome to the Forums!

Once you get comfortable here, feel free to post up some pics of your Diablo. I would really like to see one from 2001.

Welcome to the board mivy! You should post some pics, either in the gallery, or you can post them as an attachment in this thread.

I have never seen a 2001 Diablo, it's my understanding that the Diablo's were only produced in the early stages of Mariah, up to the 1994 model year, and they were only available in the 180, or 18ft size. The only models in the 200 size that were produced were the Shabah and Talari. So you might have the model names mixed up?

What type of info are you specifically looking for? We've got all kinds of stuff on the site, and tons of helpful members, so by all means, ask away!

Hmmmm interesting. Then that makes my boat a bit of a rare one.

Just googled 2001 diablo and came up with this.

I suspect those 'two' boats are actually one and the same but no matter. I understand where Chris is coming from with his comment about the Diablo production cuz i looked thru the '98, '99 & 2000 brochures we have and didn't see any mention of a "Diablo" either. Even the name "Talari" seemed to disappear after 1998. Too bad we dont have a 2001 brochure..... I wonder if the names "Shabah", "Diablo" and "Talari" became kind of interchangable in the last years of production because they were so similar to each other? Maybe they were marketed differently by the individual dealers or to certain areas of the country?

Well I guess I stand corrected then. The 2001 boats are a bit of a mystery, as it's one of the few years we have no brochure from, and the plant closed down in May of 2001, so that's where things get really confusing.

Thanks for all the input. I'll try and post some pics this weekend, dealer still has boat, they are getting it ready for me. Should be able to pick it up on Friday. I too thought that I had the numbers mixed up on this boat, because it has been so hard to find out much about it. Looking forward to getting it wet.

We are new to boating so some of the things I was wandering is,
    1. Is the 305 a good motor, I couldn't find hour meter on it?
    2. What octane gas do i need to use?
    3. Dealer is putting new water pump in? Should I ask them to do anything else?
    4. Boat is extremely clean, What kind of wax do you recommend to keep it looking good?

Here is the only boat I have found like mine on the internet. It looks exactly like mine.
