Default 98 Z260 Mcc

Good Morning Everyone,

Just found this great site, it looks to pretty interesting so far! Excited to be a part of it. I have a 98 Z260 MCC, in Upstate NY, boat mostly on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence. Bought the boat new in 99, loved the layout and ammenities! But we've had a pretty rocky history, shortly after I bought it I found cracks in the bottom of the front part of the hull on the starboard side, three times the dealer had it fixed, the cracks kept coming back. He was told the main stringer needed to be repaired which entailed cutting out the floor inside the cuddy. The factory said they did not want to pay the local repair shop to fix it, they would take it back to te factory and repair it, OK no problem. They picked it up in January, I was supposed to have it back by memorial day. Long story short they went out of business with my boat still locked inside, finally after three weeks of dicking around with attornies, I had to pay $3000 dollars to send a truck from Syracuse NY to Benton to pick up my boat. It was absolutely trashed when I got it back, work half started, fiberglass grindings all over the interior, things taken apart that were not even supposed to be touched, my original fiberglass door on the back was gone and replaced with a plastic piece of crap! Anyway I had to have the boat repaired here and it cost me an additional $7000.00, so much for the lifetime warranty!!! Insurance would not cover a factory defect so I pretty much was pretty much screwed since I owed the bank a ton of money. But hey what are ya gonna do? Still have the boat, it's been perfect since it was repaired by Fast Forward Marine and use it every chance we get. It definately is the nicest layout's of any boat we've looked at even today! Well enough rambling.

Wow Rick, that's a hell of an experience you went through! Sorry to hear about all the troubles. That's just a classic case of bad timing, I'm sure if Mariah wasn't in such financial troubles at the time, they would have taken care of your problem properly. I had the chance to speak with Jimmy Fulks before he passed and he told me he was shelling out $50,000 - $75,000 a week of his own personal savings to keep the company afloat, and had to basically halt production. I'm quite sure that's why your boat didn't get the utmost priority during the time they took it in.

At least it's fixed now, and you're able to enjoy it!
    Post some pics for us!
