Default New to the owners club 2000 shabah 222

Hello everyone,
In the last couple months I bought a 2000 222 shabah and I am loving it. I grew up on the water with my family boating and camping. In the last couple years I decided I wanted to get back into it so started doing a lot of research of what I wanted and what might be a good starter boat for my small family. I happened to find the boat on craigslist for a steal of a price. The man that owned it was retired and camped a lot but didn't use the boat to much so decided to sell it. There was only 70 hours since the original engine and only about 15 hours since he replaced the engine with a jasper remanufacture. I guess the impeller went bad on a ohio river trip and he lost the original volvo penta 5.0L. The man was very thorough with all the records and service he and others had done. It was also always stored indoors, so the boat looks brand new. At first I was a little worried that it might be underpowered. I took it out for a trial on the water before i bought it and it runs great. On smooth water It got up to 51 tracked by GPS. Not to shabby for a 5.0L carb. Fast enough for me. I have ordered a extended swim platform from swimplatforms.com and should have it installed in a couple weeks. I might have captains call installed next spring. Not that I want to compete with the go fast crowd.... I just love the sound of through hull exhaust. If it annoys my wife I'll just flip the switch. haha.
Anyone on here from the indianapolis area? I usually go to Racoon Lake, Brookville, or monroe. Actually last weekend at Racoon lake I saw a 2000 era 212 and a 95 222. Both boats looked like they were in great condition. Look forward to hearing from some of you. I am enjoying the forums. There is a lot of great info.

Thanks,
Kyle (Kylebsu)

Hey Nelson, I actually have service done at Harmon Boats and Lockwood service in Cicero. The boat is at harmon right now having a dripping impeller housing replaced.
