Depends on the charger too. Some chargers use a higher voltage periodically to charge the battery faster, and to help try and recondition it. It can get as high as 16 volts, and some electronics will not be able to handle that voltage if they are turned on. If everything is off, you should be ok, but if you flip a switch, it could damage something.
Also, some chargers will overcharge or boil the batteries, so pay attention to that.
I Do charge my batteries in my boat but with plenty of ventilation and air movement.
