Title Replace mechanical hatch lifters with hydraulic system
Description My original Accu-lift mechanical hatch lifters eventually stopped working. I did some research and decided to replace them with a Bennett Hatch Lifter system with simultaneous action (two-way valved pump unit which controls fluid through 2 hoses to both expand and contract the ram), this was to ensure that the system would hold the hatch shut when travelling. They make one-way pump units which use a single hose connection to each ram. Fluid is used to extend the ram. To collapse the ram, the weight of the hatch forces the fluid back in the resevoir when the valve is opened by the selonoid (the Trim Tab pump is a one-way type pump unit). This required me to install a completely seperate pump unit as opposed to installing a retrofit valve kit to pump unit whch would allow one pump unit to either raise the hatch or lower the trim tabs. Overall, the system is nice and I'm happy with it. It's slower than I'd loke but I've lifted that hatch manually and this I think was the better option for the money.
