Default electrical problem

Has anyone got a wiring diagram for a 2006 sx18. Or know what the following problem could be.

My boat wont start, It seems to be an electrical problem, With only half the dash getting electric, The trim adjusts, stereo and lights go on however the buzzer does not sound and turning the ignition key does nothing.

Anyone have any clue as to what the problem could be? The battery must be okay as i charged it full and then on jump leads again.

Thanks.

Nick

    Hi Nick,

Diagnosing electrical problems can be a very time consuming task, it may be more prudent to take your SX18 to a qualified service shop.

In the mean time, here are a few quick things to look at....
    • Have you checked your fuses and/or circuit breakers?
    • Is your kill switch lanyard installed?
    • Have you checked under your dash and engine bay for signs of any wiring having come loose?
    • Have you checked the reset breaker on you motor?

Good luck and let us know what you find,
    WetWilly

and add 'did you check to see that all of the wiring is still attached to the battery posts'? Those smaller wires have a habit of working loose occasionally.

I had a similar problem, I had full electrics but the motor just didnt want to turn over. It clicked like the starter didnt want to work. You know just like in your car when you have full battery power but the motor wont crank.
Well I fiddled with the Throttle a little bit, just moved it back and fowards, and "dah dah" she fired into life no problemo.
Give it a go, it might just be the same thing.
I will post you 2 cents later.

Did you check the deadman switch? Easy to overlook we always think the worst when it won't start.
