I put dryer sheets in the boat and my trailer(house) as well and coat the concrete slab with mothballs. You will get a little mothball smell, but it airs out quickly. I also put a container in the boat under the cover with silica in it to absorb any moisture that might creep in. This is in my polebarn.

A handy hint, when I have my boat put away for winter I take the fire extinguisher out of it and have it ready in the house. Of course some of you probably already have fire extinguishers in the home, I find it more reassuring having an extra one handy. 2c

Great idea. You can get large packets of silica online - I ordered a bunch when we moved and had to store boxes of books etc., and they worked very well.

I use a cheap mooring cover (make sure and remove any other covers inside to allow the boat to breathe), and inside, I use dryer sheets in each storage compartment and two Damp-Rids to keep moisture under control. These are available just about anywhere, and are refillable. They cost about $5 each and they've always worked for me.
