Question Questions for the vetran Mariah owners...

I just bought an '06 SX19 with a 3.0, but, like most used boats, it's not perfect.

First, the bow nav light is out. I haven't even looked yet, but is this any easy fix assuming it's a bulb or fuse rather than bad wiring?

The blower switch lights up briefly when flipped, flickers, and goes out with just a click or two from the blower. Any ideas?

The switch on the far right of the bank of dash switches is missing. Call Mariah and order a replacement or do you have to go through a dealer?

There are more coming but for now, thanks for the help!

Congrats on your new '06 boat!

Nav light: Start with the bulb. The fixture comes apart with screws, the bulb is a festoon type, and should pop right out. If replacing the bulb doesn't work, then check the wiring.

Blower switch: There are bulbs inside the switches, assuming they use similar switches to the old Mariahs. The bulb could be loose, or the illumination circuit wire on the back could be loose too. I'm not sure what color SF Mariah uses for their illumination circuit wire, but on the old Mariahs it was Blue.

Missing Switch: I'd call SF Mariah and see what they say. And definitely report it back to us. We've had some reports of their customer service being great, while I've read others that they're not helpful at all. So start with them, and keep us posted! If they can't help, we'll get you pointed in the right direction.

    Good luck!

Chris, thanks. About the blower switch, it's not that the switch doesn't stay lit its that the blower only makes a click or two and never turns on that bothers me. I was wondering does the switch flickering and then going out suggest what might be wrong with the blower?

I'll make sure to post about my experience with SF/Mariah after I talk to them about the switch. I did call a couple days ago and ask for a owners manual, schematics, service manual etc and withou hesitation they said they'd put it all in the mail to me. Of course it hasn't arrived but just the fact they were willing to do it, free as well, was refreshing.

    Thanks for all the help!

In my experience w/ the bow nav lights non-functioning, the bulb was in new perfect looking shape but nothing happened when switch was flicked. We then started to wiggle the wires around and I believe we scuffed up the terminals on the lower socket to get a better contact. Eventually we found that spot and made sure not to lose it when re-installing the socket and bulb.

Another item to check would be inside the socket itself. Make sure it is cleaned up and there is no dirt / dust / corrosion on it.

My blower switch the light is it in the centre of the switch and lights up just the tip of it (toggle switch). Three of my switches had broken housings so they needed replacing. So does your blower still function?

Hi 06_19SX, on my 06 SX18, I have to install the rear white Nav light pole before my front nav lights will work.
As far as the blower is concerned; does it pop out the safety switch? You may have a simple connection problem at the unit itself. It should be fairly easy to get to. Pull the cables out and clean the connections and try again.
My blower stopped working and kept popping the safety switch, the service centre found it to be totally seized and replaced it free of charge. It could be the same problem.
In my opinion the guys at Sea Fox have been very helpful, so give them a call, they should be able to help.
I sent Chris the latest Mercruiser handbook for scanning and putting on the forum here, I havent checked to see if he has had time to post it yet, but once you are a member you will be able to access lots of very useful information. Well worth it mate.
    Good luck.
