Default best prop for 1994 barchetta

Looking for the best prop for a 1994 Barchetta v6 4.3 litre, I have a 19p alum prop on it now hit some rocks and took it out, 1st boat need info, please with the prop I have top RPMs at 5500 trimmed out to near perfection, top speed about 45 to 48 mph, looking for more bottom end out of the hole, not looking for speed, but a mixture of both will work.

There is no way that your motor is running at 5500 rpms with the 4.3L and getting those results. I suspect your tach is a little out of wack. There is a small dial on the back of the tachometer. Give it a spin a few times then set it again at '6 cyl'. The recommended range for your 4.3L is 4400 - 4800 rpms at WOT. Ideally you should be at 4800rpms at WOT and your top speed should be in the 45 - 49 range. The 4.3 will limit itself to about 5100rpms before starting to cut out.

Actually the 19" 3 blade is a good prop for that particular boat. When in good condition it gives a good mix of speed & low end grunt. If yours is damaged that will definitely affect your hole shot & acceleration so it sounds like it is time to repair or replace it. I would consider another one or possibly at 20" 4 blade as an alternative./

thanks mikeyt i will try that, this is my first boat so I am still learning. My prop is kind of chewed up, I will check that tack and see what happens, my top speed is right in that range.
