I am measuring for anew sundeck and the area doesn't appear to be square. The port side appears to be 1.5 inches longer. The molded fiber glass as well as the area where the lift assist arm mounts is 1.5 inches longer. 30 from back of hinge to corner of fiberglass. On starboard side. 31.5 on port. Is this normal? Hinges have not been relocated and neither have mounting brackets for lift assist. Can anyone clarify?

Yep, I found the same to be true when I redid my sun deck

Did you just cut it at an angle? I don't have the original to go off of so I'm kinda up a creek without a paddle. I have a nasty version that the previous owner made but it is not good at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your are one step ahead of were I was. All I did was measure across the back and along one side and cut my deck which I took to the upholster to cover. It was only when I went to install it that I realized that the I now had a square deck which needed to fit a non square space. Fortunately it works but you can tell by looking at it that something is of kilter. If I were you I would cut make it to fit the space, then at least it wouldn't be as obvious as mine is. I centred the headrest on the deck and should have waited till I had the deck mounted and then matched them to the seats.
