I noticed the wonderful vendors that are available for parts and maintenance; however, I'd like to know if there are other options for a replacement gas cap?

I take it you have the flip style cap.
Only thing you can do if you don't want to get the factory style cap , is take some measurements of the outside diameter of your fuel cap fitting , and then find something that is the same size or larger. That way you would be covering the existing "footprint" of the fuel fill assembly.
There are tons on Ebay.
Just make sure you get one with the same size hose fitting.
