Default rear seat problem

i have a very simple ? I have a 95 240z talari, 260 hp bravo 3. I want to get better acess to the front of the engine to replace the water pump and belts. the bottom of the rear seat has a hinge on the front bottom, however I cannot figure out how to detach it from the top seat support bar or if it is even designed to come forward. Already I have found great info on this club site...tahnk you anyone who can answer this ?

Mine is a 212, so it may not be identical although it sounds the same. Lift the sun pad, and grab the seat from the side and pull forward. It is not attached to the upper support bar, it may just be stuck since it obviously has not moved forward since you have owned it. And it sure does help in getting access to the engine like you are wanting for sure.

Let us know if that does not work, and possibly include pictures.

    Hope that helps.

Mine is a 96 235 and Zack sounds like has the same set-up I lift my sun pad and remove the seat (where your butt goes) section and the remainder hinges forward. On mine there is no other fastners holding the seat from moving. This does give you more room to work, but if I was going to do some motor work I would take the time to un-screw the hinges from the floor and just take the whole seat out to make life allot easier. Sometimes and extra few minutes will save a ton of cussing and cramped up positions...LoL

    Good Luck!
