No baffles on mine, and quiet it is not. I have had one actuator stick a couple times. Make sure they are opening completely, you could have an issue with the actuators and the plates that are supposed to open and divert exhaust.

If needed, you can remove the riser elbow and easilly see the actuator and plates to check thier operation.

How hard is an aftermarked captains call to install? It seems to me like it would be fairly simple, but I have been wrong before! Is is just some actuators, and flex line run to the output tips? or am I way off on this assumption?

It's not as easy or as cheap as it sounds.... Search for "Captains Call", and "Thru Hull Exhaust" and you should find all sorts of info. Most people really want to do it until they find out how much it'll cost, and how much work is involved. I know, I was one of them.

As A part of the deal when I bought mine they have to install the Corsa Silent Choice exhaust and they told me thir cost on parts is almost 2k. Also they have to remove the transducers and move all the wires. It is a job I would not want to do.

There is what could be considered a baffle in them. 2 in each to be exact. They are welded in and basically change the direction of the exhaust which in turn will muffle slightly.

I found a kit for $750.00, so I figured $1000 by the time I replace something I break in the process.... Do you think I'm being too optimistic on that price?

If that price includes the rounded oval-rectangular OEM Mariah tips, then yes, that's a good deal! The OEM tips that fit on the molded transom area are really the only tips that look good with the later model Mariahs. They can sometimes be found cheap online, but if you have to pay full price, they run around $500.

See the pic below. (thanks to tvacek for his beautiful boat posing for this pic)

When they ordered the exhaust for mine they said there was extra cost for the elbows and fittings so the exhaust would come out under the swim platform above the water line. Also when it was ordered they asked me if I wanted any baffles and I told them NO. That is why I am having it installed I want to hear it run!!!!!!! Now I am still waiting for it to be put on, as they will do it after they open back up after the holiday break (they take a few weeks off) and fill in some slow time.

It does come with tips, but not THOSE tips.... My boat has the same type of rear end shown in the pic. I think that I will do some more searching to see if I can find those tips cheaper... anyone know if the elbows that minnox is talking about are required for the 238 shabah? It looks like it would be a direct fit, but I could be wrong....
