I'm going to replace the carpet on my 1996 Shabah 180, I noticed that under the spots were the carpet has worn/rotted through, there is a fiber glas like coating that has craked and is comming off.

What is this, and is it easy to patch?

umm... i believe that is fibreglass and if you know how to repair fibreglass then its an easy repair.
