Understand, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Just expressing my own taste. Boats are like cars to me and opinions are what make the hobby fun. Lets not get to serious or sensitive. :)

Anyway, can someone tell me the reason for the tower? Seems like a "Fad" that came around 5 years ago or so?? Maybe do some pull ups?? Just Kidding!

Have a good day all! Go Mariah!

As far as I can tell, the towers started on wakeboard boats. The initial function was that it gives the rider some extra lift. Then someone decided you might as well hang your boards up there to get them out of the way, then hey... lets put speakers up there so the rider can hear the music better... then came integrated sun shades... I don't even know what else you can put on them anymore. I assume after all those developments, the cruiser guys saw towers as a cheaper alternative to aftermarket fiberglass arches. Commence fad. As a nice aside, I think the functionality of arches has evolved quite a bit in the past few years as well.

For the record, I think Last Red Cent would look better without the tower too. But maybe the functionality out weighs the looks for Mr. Crazy. My boat looks a lot better without the bimini up but my ginger wife can't be in the sun long, so out comes the sail.
