You're right, the name definitely fits. Once again, incredible job...all the thought and detail that went into it sure shows up.

Tested the tower speakers at 150' and have to say they are as crystal clear as if you were standing right in front of them. I have the tower speakers wired through a Wetsounds 420 eq which has its own volume for a second zone. Very flexible and can play the system while at anchor at a moderate level and still be inside the boat without getting blasted by the speakers. Sweet!

Weekend pictures.

Second time in the water and still having overheating issues. While the boat is on the trailer and ear muffs on the drive the engine and temp gauge seem to run at normal temp. Gets up to 160 then drops down a bit as the thermostat opens and fluctuates with the rpm as normal. The gauge goes between 160-170 and with a laser thermometer pointed at the oil cooler to check oil temp it shows between 190-200 degrees after engine runs for a bit. Now the problem starts when I put her in the water and first thing that goes awry is the temp gauge. As soon as I start the engine and let it idle up to temp all looks good until I give the engine any throttle then it drops down to 100 degrees and does not move from that position til I turn the engine off and turn to key back to on position then it will read the current temp. I can do this over and over again and same results. When underway the gauge sticks on 100 and does not show me correct temp but using my laser temp tool on different parts of the engine I can tell she is starting to creep up to 190-200 degrees. I am totally at a loss at would could be causing my problem because I have checked and confirmed all my grounds are under .5 ohm resistance, have replaced sea water pump impeller, back and forward flushed entire water path through engine and drive, checked thermostat in a cup of boiling water and oil pressure stays at 40psi.

Any ideas?

Do you know for a fact that you have water pressure coming from the sea water pump? It sounds to me like the sea water pump is shot or the hose between the outdrive and the transom assy or the hose from the transom assy to the sea water pump inlet is collapsing when you run the engine in the water. This would explain why it runs OK when on the hose...the hose is providing the pressure rather than the sea water pump or the hose is keeping the inlet hose(s) from collapsing. Also, if the water level in the engine is falling from lack of flow, then the coolant temp sensor would not be submerged in water and would read low. When you shut the engine off and the engine mounted pump stopped, the water level in the engine would rise, submerging the coolant temp sensor and allowing the gage to read properly. Try removing the hose from the output of the sea water pump. On my 7.4 MPI the sea water pump output connects to the front left fitting on the thermostat housing. If you pull this hose off the thermostat housing and run the engine you should have water shooting out at a pretty good rate. If you are getting little or no flow then either your sea water pump(impeller) is shot or the inlet hoses are collapsing.
Good Luck...the boat looks great on the trailer but I bet it looks even better running at 50+ MPH!

you guys beat me too it. i was gonna say that the garden hose was providing pressure to the motor and somehow your pickup pump was not.

One other thing.
If the bridge inside the pump housing is broke. (the piece that seperates the 2 water jackets inside the main housing) that Brovo pump will not provide good volume of water. Been there done that. could not believe it made a difference.

I finally found time this week to work on my engine and it's overheating issue. After replacing sea water impeller and housing and still having the same issue I decided to remove all hoses and coolers to visually inspect for any blockages. I did find a could pieces of the impeller in the oil cooler but they were really small and would not of caused any real blockage of the water flow. I did not find any other restrictions anywhere in the other coolers and or hoses and decided to take off the circulating pump to flush out the block and see if any thing was lodged in there that would cause an issue. Bam! Found the issue as soon as I removed the circ pump as it rattled like a baby rattle. Took apart the backing plate and found the impeller broken in to two pieces. Problem is hopefully solved and will find out as soon as I pick up my parts from KE in Palm Coast (nice to have a performance boat parts warehouse only 20 minutes away).

Doesnt it make you feel good when you find the problem for sure. Too bad it wasnt the first thing you checked, but it never is.
