I don't know that any of our members have ever installed one of these... I've thought about it, but then I realized that $230 buys a lot of gas, and I'd much rather spend it on that. 
Have you tried Randy Jobe's Jittery Fuel Gauge fix? This will stabilize the gauge, and is extremely easy to do. It's a sticky at the top of this forum.
