Changing Steering Wheel
My steering wheel has been driving me nuts (insert pirate joke here) ever since the first time out on the water (last Oct). It flexes like crazy in choppy water and it just looks cheap. So I ordered a new wheel last week and it should be here soon (hopefully tomorrow). I already took the old one off once just to see what was going on back there so I would know exactly what I needed (hub/etc) and to make sure I could get it off. It took a couple of light smacks on the shaft to pop it off, which probably had to do with the fact that the cast aluminum hub piece set into the plastic was cracked. Now is there anything special I need to know about when changing it? As always, any help appreciated...
Next project: Check/Adjust steering cables/bolts/etc to see if I can get rid of the 2-3" play in the wheel.
