Default Wood rot

Has anyone figured out how to repair or replace the plywood located under the bow floor(in front of the ski locker), it's become punky. I've read other posts on other sites regarding the same problem on their Mariahs, but other than wood rot spray, no real suggestions. If someone has taken on this type of project I'd like to hear from them. I'm considering removing the molded floor this winter in so I can replace the plywood, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have replaced the entire floor and stringers on my 1966 searay. Check out rotdoc.com. There is some great information on repairing rotton wood. Let us know what you do and take some pics.

    aquaknot,

Same problem here with my bowrider. Noticed it when I was cleaning it one day a few months ago and I put my knee on that silver guard and it was spongy so I went to investigate. Needless to say I havent put that guard back on this season yet. I just left it open.

I asked the same question on Iboats.com, and I know someone mentioned that you can trap moisture if you spray something in there.

I would like to replace mine if possible, but im not up to removing the whole upper part of the hull to get at the under bow portion. Also not up to cutting the feet area portion in the bow to get at it. I guess for now.. it stays.
