Talking Wood Grain Dash Fix!

I posted this as a response to a request but figured I would also post it here:

Most of you may know (took me years to figure out without this website!) that the Mariah dash pieces were molded internally at the factory with a fake printed burlwood pattern.

I had been trying to recover my faded dash for over 2 years when I discovered Julianos hot rods in CT that can reapply the finish to your dash pieces. I have not done mine yet as my 454 decided to suck water an rust out but they were quite confident they could do it. I was quoted $600 a year ago to do all the pieces for my boat after sending them pictures.

I'm working on the writeup for my dash repair. Mine was cracked in multiple places, falling apart, faded, and, and I had it repaired and refinished from a company in Texas that specializes in refinishing auto & marine trim. Keep your eyes on the projects section for the full writeup.

I also have a company coming out tomorrow that is going to refinish my dash(blue) and repair nicks and tears in my seats. Will post some pics

I can already tell this place will be where I spend most of my time this summer

Has anyone on here redone all of their dashboard wiring? If you have ever seen how the breakers on the Z series are wired its no wonder they never caught on fire. They used piggy back spade connectors, at least half of mine were corroded and almost falling apart. I am replacing all of my dash wiring with heat shrink connections to hopefully get another 9+ years out of them.

The main breaker to the engine was so loose when I hit a wake my engine would quit
