Mariah Cuddy Q's:
I recently purchased a 1997 216 talari with cuddy cabin, and have a few questions. Note: I have tried to search for these answers, but the results from my search are not specific enough, so if you have any ponter about searching that would help also.
1. Table and legs for Cuddy Table: Where does it go when bed is made? does it fit somewhere under the bed? there already one board in the space, does the table go there also? the last owner didnt know or use it that way, He just handed it to me ( it didnt come in place in the cuddy)
2. There is a Padded box on the wall in the cuddy on the pasenger side that covers where the cup holders and glove box in the passenger side of the cockpit protrude into the cuddy cabin. This box wont stay in place, and there doesnt appear to be any attaching hardware for it to stay in place....If you have a similar box can you share how it stays in place?
Is there something missing? some kind of support bar, clip, or ???
do I just pick a spot to drill a hole and screw it in place?
2. windshield Wiper switch: the light in the switch always stays lit, even if not pushed on. any ideas?
3. windshield wiper: the Wiper arm doesnt move even if the switch is pushed. looks like I will have to remove headliner to look at motor? is there something Im not thinking of here?
4. Rear Seat back/Motor cover: there is nothing I can see to keep the sunning platform/cover up after lifting it. Im currently using a paddle or stick to hold it up. something Im missing?
Thanks!
Steve

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
I've got a 2002 250 Cuddy Cabin the table top fits under the port side seat along with the support pole,it's a tight fit, and the deck table pole fits under the starboard side aft seat. Look on the bottom of the table and see if there are snaps, mine does then look under your seat for straps .Hope this gives some idea.

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
thanks for the help with the table.
I think the wiper light is staying on because the wiper motor is stuck, Anyone have this happen before?
I just bit the bullet and screwed the box to the wall. I hate drilling holes but no other choice was obvious.

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
Does your wiper work at all? Reason I ask, when I removed my dash to have it repaired, I had incorrectly hooked up the wiring on the back of the switch during re-assembly, and it stayed lit until I switched the contacts around and it worked again. Perhaps that's whats wrong with yours?

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
the wiper switch light should not stay on, vene if the wiper is jammed. try swapping for one of the several spare switches, the covers can be unclipped and swapped over if that fixes it.
If the wiper was jammed I would expect it to pop the circuit breaker.

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
I had a 1998 216 pc Talari also, and as far as the sundeck staying open I did the same thing that you are doing by propping it up with a cover pole or something. I bought the boat new so on that model I don't believe Maiah installed anything to hold it open. I was going to try installing a gas strut at some point but never got around to it.

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
I have a Z216 Talari and find it very frustrating to read all this talk on here of people with electric lifts on other models, when I have to struggle to hold it open with an old broom handle, and this on the top spec Z series boat that is supposidly 'equipped like no other', even a gas strut would have been a start! :-(

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
The 216 I had was not the Z model, so I am not sure if the Z model came from the factory without even a gas strut, which I agree would be nice.

me too...makes me wish I had motor operated, until I read about them being removed, probably because they didnt work, or couldnt be fixed.
I have started calling my sun deck "the masher", As I have crushed a couple of things when the cover slammed shut when i didnt want it to.

Re: Mariah Cuddy Q's:
Hi stecoleco,
I had the same issue with the sunpad and used a crutch then later, a wooden paddle too. That got old real quick so I installed 120lbs gas shocks to the pad. You can read my post with pics, click here.
Hey anthonybradley, have you had a chance to install a set of shocks on your sunpad yet?
