Hey All - I plan to install a Moore Performance Triple Exhaust on my 1996 Mariah 210 - 350 mercruser. I know the Corsa or Gil systems with electric or air diverters are best but the price is high. I am told with the exhaust going thru hull and prop at the same time that the sound and pulses are more balanced. Better low rpm back pressure and better high rpm flow. If the system is too loud I can always install silencers at the tips. For $425.00 with shipping to Texas from Cal and the kit including hoses, clamps, divertors, tips and flappers.
Any advice would be appreciated,

Hmm, I had never heard of them until you mentioned it. And I've been on performance and offshore boards for years, never seen a mention of that company at all. Their website isn't what I'd call professional, and that tends to point me elsewhere. Doing a quick search for them on the net, the only other site matches I see are ebay items. I mean, think, if their product was high quality, wouldn't you think they'd have a great website, a reputation on the boards, and sell places other than ebay?

My best advice to you, if you're going to do it, don't skimp on it. I'm assuming you don't have thru-hull exhaust already. Go selectable, and do it right. Go with the Mercruiser Silent Choice, Corsa Captain's Call, or the Imco Sound Advantage kit. Trust me, you'll want the ability to silence the exhaust once in a while, especially if you're running for long distances, or if you have a family. Many harbors have exhaust restrictions, and all you'd need to do is just flick a switch and be "legal". And when you leave, open the pipes back up and roar across the water again.

Plus all the big names have invested thousands of hours and countless amounts of money into research and development, getting patents and approval from the NMMA, USCG and other marine certification agencies. I'm all about supporting small business and everything, but remember anything you add to a boat needs marine certification for it to be considered "legal" by the USCG. Even my K&N air filter has a "marine approved" number on it, and I have had to show it on two seperate occasions.

You can search the board here for exhaust opinions if you really want them. Most people with selectable exhaust enjoy it, however if your boat wasn't equipped with it, most people don't feel like spending the coin to have it installed. To do it right usually ends up costing close to $2k. And for it to look OEM, and like it belongs properly, the price you were quoted is just about what you'd be paying for the tips alone.

I appreciate the advice and I want to make an informed choice. This idea is not my original - I had come across a Performance Boat forum (Performance Boat Magazine) which they were discussing this same topic. The moderator suggested buying an additional set of aluminium riser elbows, cutting the inlet off and having them welded to the existing aluminium risers to create a wye pipe and going thru hull and thru prop. While searching online I came across the stainless steel triple exhaust kit I mentioned. I am looking into boat exhaust regs in Texas. I am not interested in obnoxious noise.
